http compression for ASP.NET websites & more

Hello,

I would like to enable compression on IIS 7.5 to reduce the size of the data that is transferred from our IIS server to our clients.  To do this I have followed various articles that say, go here in IIS and turn on Dynamic compression, and go here to turn on Static compression, unfortunately the web pages still come down uncompressed.  I have dug deeper and found where you have specify file size limits so it knows whether to compress the item it is serving up, and also specify mime-types, but this again has got me knowwhere.  If I look in the temp folder where it should be compressing the files I can see that JQuery .js files are being compressed but none of my sites content.

If you have any ideas what I could be missing, or a more thorough article or anything to help that would be great.

Thanks for your help.

John
