I'm getting confused by all of the changes that are going on in this space for Microsoft for on-premise VS. Azure

Hello all,

I'm just curious, with all of the focus moving toward Azure now, firstly, where did our freedom go, and secondly, where is IIS media services 4 heading?  Is that going to be discontinued like the rest of them?  I mean, if the Transform manager was just released, yet Encoder 4 SP2 is the last version of Encoder that will be developed, where is the on-premise ability of streaming going?  And then I know that Windows media Services has already been discontinued as well and is not supported in Windows Server 2012, so what about those who desire to run an on-premise internet radio station?  Could people fill me in a little bit?  I'm trying to understand all of this, but the info seems rather scattered; new products are being released, and then a few months later, necessary products for their lifespan get shot down in favor of the cloud.  Thanks for any information you may have.
