For the longest time, WebPI has been unable to install MySQL on to a 64 bit system. 2008 server, Win7, and now Win8.
Will the team please look into this. I have seen this hang so many times over the last 2 yrs and it's pretty tiresome to backtrack after the install works up to about a 90% pt and then hangs.
Check out the step that runs MySQLInstanceConfig.exe, this is where things hang.
This also affects many developers who are positioning WordPress sites in Windows Azure and then try the WebMatrix option for working with their sites. WebPI starts up and then fails!
