How do you configure IIS6 to ignore requests where the HostName contains the website IP address?

Hello All,

I'm quite the newbie at all this so appologies up front if my request for help sounds like giberish.

I have IIS 6 running on Windows Server 2003.  I have a new website (personal use) and I would like IIS to ignore, ie not respond or timeout, to requests where the HOST NAME contains the websites IP address.  I'm trying to prevent IP scanners from easily finding my server.

I already know that I can specify the FQDN as the Host Header Value in IIS on the Website tab but I don't want to take this approach as this causes some other issues in my setup.  I'm looking for another solution.

I have installed URLScan and Ionics Isapi Rewrite Filter (IIRF) but I'm not sure if these tools can do what I want especially having the server not respond to the request.

What I'm hoping for is someone to say "Yes, these is easy, all you have to do is......"{#emotions_dlg.smile}. {#emotions_dlg.usage}

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

W
