Unable to connect to a Remote MySql Server on a non-standard port in the Web Matrix 3.0 Application

The subject line says most of it.

In the interface there's no provision to enter a port number.

Modifying the generated web.config and adding in (for example) ;Port=3356 to the end of theconnectionString attribute causes the interface to choke and not show any database connections.

Is this a bug or am I'm missing something obvious?
